Built in 1989, the tallest building in the United States west of the Mississippi is the Library Tower. At 1018 feet high with 73 floors, it has the highest helipad in the world.. It was named after the Los Angeles Central Library across the street and in March of 2003, was renamed to the U.S. Bank Tower.
